~ The beauty of the season begins
with kindness from the heart ~

The Holiday Assistance Program helps
qualifying families by paying a large portion of their rent or mortgage in December. Instead of providing toys, this program provides
assistance and training to promote self-sufficiency, allowing families
to budget for their own holiday giving.
In December 2009, 54 families,
including 170 children, received an average of
$389 in financial assistance and a generous grocery gift card. Our goal this year is to help 60 families. You can help
us help them this holiday season.
You help not only by providing
fish, but also in teaching the family how to fish. Qualifying
families attend a Money Management class so they learn how to better
manage their income. Irving Independent School
District school counselors refer families to Irving Cares for this program.
Enhance your holiday season by
helping an Irving family in need. Your
generous gift brightens the holiday season by giving families a hand up, not a handout.
