Your support helps keep the pantry full! A typical food order for a family of 4 contains more than 60 pounds of groceries with a retail value of approximately $100. Food Pantry volunteers pack and distribute an average of 346 food orders per month. To meet that demand, we require nearly 25,000 pounds of groceries, or $41,750 per month. In 2007/2008, Irving Cares supplied groceries to 12,465 individuals. We received 156,459 pounds of food donations with a value of $264,416. Your nonperishable grocery donations are an essential part of our food pantry supply. We receive groceries from local food drives, from the North Texas Food Bank, and by purchasing them at the lowest available retail price.
