We strive to make your volunteer experience enjoyable and worthwhile.
We are able to deliver our services thanks to the numerous hours given by our extraordinary volunteers, our dedicated board of directors, and our compassionate staff. In 2006/2007, volunteers logged
10,031 hours at Irving Cares. The dollar value of that time was $18,282, and cash contributions from our volunteers totaled $26,399.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Leigh Eitson, our Volunteer Coordinator,
at (972) 721-9181 extension 209, or by email at leitson@irvingcares.org.
Please include your full contact information, the dates and times you are available, and the type of work you'd like to do.
Food Pantry
In 4-hour morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday, volunteers prepare client food orders and stock and sort groceries.
Case Management
Spanish/English translators are needed to update our
website, assist Employment Services and to interview clients to determine their eligibility for services. We provide on-the-job training.
Employment Services
Volunteers work with the Case Manager to contact prospective employers to gather job posting information, and they make follow-up contact with clients who have been placed in jobs.
Administrative
Volunteers support our staff by performing information and referral services, creating files, preparing letters, performing data entry, and other tasks.
With your help, we can help Irving residents when they need it most. Thank you!
